It was a 'perfect night' for Chelsea as they beat Palmeiras to reach the Club World Cup semi-final, despite new signing Estevao Willian scoring against them.

It was with a tear in his eye that Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira bid farewell to the teenager whom he described as “my son”, and although Willian Estevao could not stop Chelsea reaching the Club World Cup semi-finals he certainly made an impression against his new club.

Incoming Chelsea signing Estevao has sent a message to Marc Cucurella after the pair came to blows at the Club World Cup. The Blues beat Palmeries 2-1 on Tuesday in Philadelphia to reach the semi-finals of the revamped tournament, where they’ll face Fluminense of Brazil.
