The saga continues. To add to the constant confusion around the “Star Wars” franchise, Disney has removed an untitled “Star Wars” movie it had earmarked for a December 2026 release. Disney has instead replaced it with…”Ice Age 6.” It now opens in theaters December 18, 2026.

Disney has removed a "Star Wars" film previously scheduled for Dec. 18, 2026 from its release calendar. "Ice Age 6" will move into its spot.

Disney appears to still be wandering in the wilderness when it comes to its plans for future Star Wars movies.

Breaking….Disney has pulled the second Star Wars movie dated for Dec. 18, 2026 off the calendar. We hear it wasn’t certain that one pertained to the continuing adventures of Daisy Ridley’s Rey Skywalker.

A common criticism of the recent trilogy is that the story or franchise lacks clear direction. That still seems to be the case; only Disney has become even more gun-shy since Rise Of Skywalker. Sadly, Star Wars is primarily a press release property now, but that may be the best form for it to take.

The idea of saving money on a movie which cost hundreds of millions of dollars sounds bizarre. However that is what Disney did on Star War: The Rise of Skywalker.
