Mercedes-Benz has announced a significant decision regarding its upcoming CLA electric vehicle (EV), opting to equip it with both Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) and the Combined Charging System (CCS) plugs. This move is a strategic response to the evolving landscape of EV charging infrastructure and consumer preferences.

Class lays the groundwork for the automaker’s future, while a hybrid provides a stepping stone for wary customers.

Mercedes-Benz has provided early details of the powertrains that will be offered for the third-generation CLA, which is set to be the first model to be built on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA).
