The provision, tucked into the spending bill that could end the US government shutdown, would ban intoxicating hemp-derived THC products, including gummies and drinks.
Alcohol producers had pushed lawmakers to close a legal loophole that allowed companies to sell the intoxicating products.
THC-infused drinks have been legalized since 2018, but some legislators are trying to close the "legal loophole" in Congress' new budget bill.
