The American studio and Korean giant will co-develop, co-finance, and distribute movies made in both English and Korean.

Warner Bros. has reached a production deal with Korean studio CJ ENM that will see the two companies partner to make remakes of films from each other’s libraries.

Through this new pact, initially, Warner Bros. Motion Pictures will act as lead studio on an English language film emanating from CJ ENM’s library, and CJ ENM will act as lead studio on a Korean language movie emanating from the Warner Bros. Pictures library.

Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group has struck a deal with CJ ENM, the backers of Bong Joon Ho’s Oscar-winning “Parasite” and Celine Song’s acclaimed “Past Lives,” to develop, finance and distribute English-language and Korean-language remakes of each studio’s films.

Warner Bros Motion Pictures will act as lead studio on English-language films emanating from CJ ENM’s library, while CJ ENM will act as lead studio on Korean-language remakes from the Warner Bros vault.

The new agreement will see Warner Bros. become the lead studio on English language remakes originating from CJ ENM’s library, while Miky Lee’s CJ ENM will take the lead on Korean language movies drawn from the extensive Warner Bros.
