Tennessee is among 21 states that have a full or partial alcohol ban on several holidays throughout the year; however, alcohol is allowed to be purchased on July 4. The only law regarding the sale of alcohol that some Tennesseans need to worry about over the July 4 weekend is Sunday's 10 a.m. start time.

That means your neighborhood grocery store might have modified hours or even shut its doors altogether. And checking your liquor store's hours of operation may be necessary if you don't want to show up to your holiday barbecue empty-handed.
