Disney is preparing for a new trilogy of Star Wars films after years with no big-screen releases. The latest trilogy will be written and produced by Simon Kinberg. It's unclear whether the new Star Wars trilogy will be a continuation of the Skywalker Saga.

Disney must introduce a live-action version of Knights of the Old Republic to appreciate the history that led to the Star Wars story. The rich history and potential popularity of Knights of the Old Republic would make it a hit in the live-action series.
