The luxury industry is in a slump. Dolce & Gabbana's strategy is to create affordable pieces with Skims, Kim Kardashian's shapewear label.

Those familiar with Kardashian's previous collection will notice parallels in the Dolce & Gabbana x Skims collaboration, particularly in the use of sheer fabrics, corsets and, of course, leopard print, but there's a purposeful focus on the flattering and sculpting bodywear that Skims has become known for.

O n Thursday, Kim Kardashian’s loungewear brand Skims announced a collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. And you might ask yourself: Wait, aren’t we supposed to be boycotting D&G
