Michigan State hockey is off to another amazing start, sitting at No. 1 in the nation and 7-1 over the first eight games of the year. Obviously, a major reason for the Spartans success is the play of goaltender Trey Augustine.

After a red-hot October, it appeared that November might be off to a slower start for the Michigan hockey program. While time will tell, it was a defense-optional weekend against No. 10 Wisconsin, as the Wolverines split the weekend series with the Badgers.

Freshman goalie Daniel Hauser made 29 saves and senior defenseman Ben Dexheimer recorded a goal and an assist in a 6-1 over Michigan on the road.

The only doubt with this week's rankings was whether the Spartans would get every first-place vote like the Badgers have been in women's college hockey.
