BYU ran out of its nine lives on Saturday night in Provo, falling 17-13 to upset-minded Kansas on a freezing cold night at LaVell Edwards Stadium

BYU had its chances to put some distance between the Jayhawks earlier. At the end of the first half, Retzlaff had BYU inside the five-yard line with 39 seconds left. The Cougars had two timeouts. But inside of running the ball, the offense opted for a fade route that was intercepted in the end zone.

Jalon Daniels threw for 169 yards, Dylan Neal ran for two touchdowns and Kansas upset No. 7 BYU 17-13 on Saturday night to hand the Cougars their first loss of the season.
