NFL could organize a spaghetti eating contest between wide receivers and it’d still get alot of eyeballs But once players literally didn’t tackle in the 2021 Pro Bowl, it was over. I think the NFL didn’t like the optics of that, so they changed to actual flag football lol

here's the best way to think of the Pro Bowl, or any ASG – it's a spectacle meant to hype young kids and get them into the game. it's a way for them to see players from different teams doing silly or energetic or just fun things, not genuine sport. like Zegras's blindfolded dodgeball breakaway, that's not real hockey, but it was wicked cool ...

Flag football is safer. And the small challenges in the Pro Bowl are cool that show things like strength and conditioning that players are in. Like the insane athletic ability they have. I just hope that the NFL does a donation type thing. Where there are certain markers that a player can get and the NFL will donate to a charity.

Dec 31, 2022 · Ultimately this is where the entire NFL is heading. They use the pro bowl to test new ideas so if flag football goes well you’ll see it at least for the quarterbacks within the next 5 years. Especially with all of the injuries and concussions that have happened this year.

The Pro Bowl was an actual all-star game for years before it became this skills competition, and so being a “Pro Bowler” meant that you were selected to participate in this game. But that game had entire teams for each conference, meaning full 53-man rosters (or at least 40-man rosters) for each side, so 80-100 players total.
