Yes I could carry a spool, yes I could use loop ties, and yes I could use an automatic tying tool.. However, there are many time carrying a small amount of wire is convenient and justifiable. You don’t need to wrap the full roll with tape and pull wire from the inside. Keep some tension inside the roll with a couple fingers and “unthread” the outer layers with a loose grip. You can then clip off as much wire as you want/need without cutting multiple times resulting in an aggravating bloody rats
