On Nov. 6, 2020, the Marine Band celebrated the 166th birthday of its 17th Director, John Philip Sousa, with a musical ceremony at his grave in Washington, D.C. The ceremony included performances of Sousa's famous marches "The Stars and Stripes Forever," "Semper Fidelis" and "The Thunderer," as well as a brief history of "The March King's" life.
