It's April in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and that means baby bison season! Visitors to the North and South Units have seen newborns frolicking around the Badlands, and by this time next month there will be many more. In the spring the newborns are still red and fuzzy--their nickname is "red dogs" because they look like red dogs running with the herd! They'll turn brown in a few months, and by late summer most of them will be totally brown. What is your favorite species of Badlands baby? #
